Black Velvet Earrings
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant ecosystem and captivating landscapes of Black Velvet Canyon in the Southern Nevada desert, these earrings embody the delicate balance between light and shadow within this hidden gem of nature. A single black duck feather adorned with subtle green and burnt orange accents harmonizes with a complementing array of gemstones, featuring malachite, carnelian, garnet, hand-drilled peridot, and a hand-patinaed Tree of Life charm. The simplicity of the design tastefully reveals the interplay of color contrast, balance, and symmetry, reflecting the intricate layers and nuances found within the seemingly uncomplicated facade of a desert canyon.
