Most rings are made in 14k gold-filled by default. These options can be easily made in sterling silver, however, or even solid gold. Note that the price of gold is breaking records at the moment, which is unfortunately reflected in the prices here. If you want solid gold, a lower-karat formulation like 10k is a cost-effective option. That said, 14k and 18k gold are options.
